Hallamshire will host the 13th event in the British Squash Association Elite Series next Monday 31st August and Tuesday 1st September. The event has been held at various venues around the country and features some of the best players in Britain. Playing will be England No 1 and World No 5 Nick Matthew and World No 24 Daryl Selby from Essex. The Hallamshire event commences at 8 am each day with the final at 3.30 pm on Tuesday. Admission is free. It is also streamed live on the betting site BWin .com where if you open an account you can bet on each match as they take place. Just go to www.bwin.com and click on live betting.
Martin and Val to retire from Doncaster Squash Club
"Just thought I would let you know that Val & I will be retiring from Doncaster Squash Club on 12th September this year. After some 46 combined years of service we have both decided to look for a little more 'quality' time in our twilight years. I will still be involved on a full time basis with England Squash for Referee Development and Val will be carrying on her voluntary work with the NSPCC. Hopefully I can now just go down to the club for the occasional game and a pint with the lads. I will be continuing to support S & D League as the chairperson for the time being and I would thank all the members at Doncaster Squash for their kind support and hope that they will continue supporting the S & D League.
