Last night (Wednesday 18th February), volunteers from around the district met to re-form the SnD League Committee. We're aiming to have a good representation from all the clubs in the district but there's still room for improvement. The following people were elected to the committee:
Chair - Sam Watts (Fulwood)
Vice Chair - Andrew Tressler (Barnsley)
Secretary - Vacant (Filled by Chair)
Treasurer - Jack Cornell (Hallamshire)
Fixtures - Dan Hindmarch (Hallamshire)
Juniors - Ted McQueen (Retford)
Women - Charlotte Anderson (Retford)
Events - Matt Sagar (Barnsley)
Referee/s - Sam Watts (Fulwood), 1 more needed
Ordinary Members - Nick Wall (Fulwood/Hallamshire), Kevin Dudley (Hallamshire), Adam Turner (Hallamshire)
The main outcome of the meeting was to state that we are aiming to continue supporting the junior programme and have formed a subcommittee for this purpose. We are also working to organise a competition for all players in the first half of the 26/27 season.
Please contact us by using the contact form or any of the committee members directly if you wish to be involved or have any points you feel can be address by the committee. We especially need a Secretary and another Referee. We look forward to serving the SnD community and building a solid foundation to sustain the league for the road ahead.
"Twelve U11 teams competed in a highly competitive junior squash tournament held over the weekend, with strong representation from across the region. Hallamshire entered five teams, alongside three from Retford, two from Abbeydale, and two from Fulwood.
The standard of play was excellent throughout the day, with closely contested matches and great sportsmanship on display from all players. After a series of hard-fought rounds, Hallamshire 2 emerged as overall winners, showing impressive consistency and composure across the tournament. Retford also had a notable result, with all three
Retford, Abbeydale, and Fulwood all produced strong performances, contributing to an exciting and well-balanced event that highlighted the depth of talent at U11 level. The tournament was a great success and a credit to all the young players, coaches, and organisers involved."
"Four U15 teams took part in a competitive junior squash tournament held over the weekend, with strong representation from Fulwood and Abbeydale, who each entered two teams.
The matches were played in a great spirit, with a high standard of squash throughout the day. After a series of closely fought encounters, Fulwood 2 emerged as tournament winners, delivering consistent performances across all their matches.
Both Abbeydale teams and Fulwood 1 pushed hard and contributed to an exciting and well-run event, making it a positive experience for all players involved and a great showcase of U15 junior squash."

Thank you and well done to Adam and the other coaches and parents that are driving these events.
These events are made possible through funding raised from your team entry fees and a personal entry fee from each player.

If you have a fixture with any of the Woodfield teams and its captain has not already contacted you, then we suggest contacting the respective captain for clarification.
