Club Reps will have received a notification about entering teams for next season. The deadline for entry is 26 May 2019 prior to a pre-season committee meeting on 12 June 2019. The Annual General Meeting will be held at Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club at 7:30pm on Wed 19 June 2019. Each club should send a representative to the AGM, others may attend, but not vote. Items for discussion should be sent to Martin Roberts by Mon 10 June 2018.
The Fixtures Meeting will be held at Abbeydale Squash Club at 7:30pm on Mon 1 July 2019. Each club should send one representative per team to arrange fixtures for the coming season.
The main points from the AGM are:
The open league will now consist of four leagues. There are still roughly the same number of teams, so there will be more fixtures per team. The league structure will be published shortly.
The PK Cup is now 'opt-in' only. It is likely there will be either be an A draw and a slightly larger B draw but we are still waiting for a couple of clubs to respond. The draws will be published at the fixtures meeting.
A discussion took place surrounding players in the early part of the season playing lower than their ability and also representing lots of teams for the same club. There were quite a few cases last season. There will be no rule change as Rule 25 covers it. However this will be strongly enforced from now, applying penalties where necessary. We expect captains to highlight where they see this happening. All claims will be dealt with discretely.
Woodfield Squash and Leisure are hosting a graded tournament.
Taking place 29th - 30th April 2017, the entry fee is £15 which includes a T-Shirt and a guarantee of two matches. There is a £50 prize for the winner and other prizes too. There are three categories of play, pitched at different levels. It promises to be a great, fun competition with an exciting atmosphere at a brand new club!

From Jason Fearn at Princes Sports Club
"Please Note - Princes Sports Club court heating is out of action at present so depending on temperature, single dot balls maybe used for a more enjoyable match. This is due to insufficient gas pressure coming in to the club to run the heaters safely. Please let your team know what to expect. We will post a notice here when this is resolved."
